What is a reverse story board?

A reverse story board is a technique when studying film and animation. You use a completed film and shot by shot you create a storyboard or use panels to analyse what is happening shot by shot.

This is one of the first exercises that we were given this year. We were given to choose a film and select a 20 second scene and draw out each time the camera went into a new shot.

Although I am not good at drawing I think it turned out alright. To improve it I could have coloured it in and spend more time drawing, adding in more details to the background and to the characters themselves.

This is my reverse story board for Avengers Assemble. I chose this seen as there are many jump cuts, as it is a fast paced action scene. There are also different types of facial expressions in the scene, at the beginning the is a slightly different tone, the Hulk is smiling that he is able to go and break things but towards the end he is angry because he is being shot at so is yelling. This is a scene near the end where the audience is first introduced to what the Hulk can really do.
